Powerstar's unique construction and sealing technique ensure no electrolyte leakage can occur from the terminals or case, ensuring safe, efficient operation in any position.

Powerstar batteries are SLA (Sealed Lead-Acid) factory sealed, with a true sealed and maintenance-free design. The liquid-free AGM design means they will not leak or corrode. AGM batteries produce more discharge current (cold cranking amperage) and recharge faster, with better resistance to both heat and vibration, and a much slower self-discharge rate.

The Absorptive Glass Mat (AGM) system in Powerstar batteries uses fine mat separators (glass fiber) wherein sufficient electrolyte is absorbed to provide the longest life and steady service. This system prevents the escape of electrolyte from the separator, which causes leakage. During the expected floating service life of Powerstar batteries, there is no need to check the specific gravity of the electrolyte or add water, as they require no maintenance service.

Powerstar 12 volt 22 amp hour batteries are typically used for applications such as scooters, backup power, fire alarms, security systems, UPS battery backup, exit signs, emergency lighting, testing equipment, electric scooters, mobility wheelchairs, and electric gates. This battery can replace various 12 volt 15-20 Ah batteries from brands like Powersonic, Panasonic, Sonnenschien, CSB/Prism, Eagle Picher, GS Storage, Hitachi, Johnson Controls, and Yuasa.

Powerstar batteries have an excellent charge acceptance and recovery capability, even after deep discharge. The heavy-duty lead calcium-alloy grids provide an extra margin of performance and service life in both float and cyclic applications, even in conditions of deep discharge. Due to the use of Lead Calcium grids alloy, Powerstar SLA batteries can be stored for long periods without recharge, with stable and reliable performance.

Powerstar batteries are equipped with a safe, low-pressure venting system that operates at 1psi to 6psi, designed to release excess gas and reseal automatically in the event that gas pressure rises to a level above the normal rate. The unique design effectively controls the generation of gas and allows the recombination of over 90% of the gas generated during normal use, making Powerstar batteries the safest sealed lead-acid batteries available.
